magnesium can bind with Tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (e.g., ciprofloxacin) and reduce absorption. Bisphosphonates (e.g., alendronate) – reduced absorption; take at least 2 hours apart. Loop or thiazide diuretics can lower magnesium levels. Potassium-sparing diuretics can raise magnesium. long-term use of Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) can deplete magnesium. High magnesium with Digoxin may affect heart rhythm. Additive effects possible with high doses of magnesium and Muscle relaxants or CNS depressants
